April - June Zoom Club + Power Fridays
Sutras 1:30-1:41 - Overcoming the Antarayah
Mondays & Wednesdays, April 14th – June 11 7 - 8am PST
Have you ever noticed how distraction in all its forms hijacks your mind? Two thousand years before cell-phones, gaming, and social media, Patanjali identified nine primary ways in which our minds can get thrown off course and deter us from our best intentions. He names these the antarāyāh, (the obstacles) and wisely calls out the ways in which they tether us to the painful grip of duhkha (suffering). Fortunately, he also provides the means to draw ourselves up and out of the abyss of craving, lethargy, impatience and all the rest. Like a mental detox, this spring series is an invitation to self-identify your mind’s favorite 'Games of Distraction,' and then actively employ the tools offered in these prescient teachings to bring you back to a state of focus and purpose. Rededicate yourself to your practice while steeping in the sweet support of sangha. Join us for these nine weeks of nourishing study!
