Course Overview
Wherever your starting point, through this training you will learn how to teach pranayama with confidence and to competently use breathing exercises in your healing work with others.
-
Inspired by Robin Rothenberg’s groundbreaking book, “Restoring Prana: A Therapeutic Guide to Pranayama and Healing Through the Breath,” this training provides students with vital tools to unlock the potential of pranayama, aligning respiratory science with the traditional principles of yoga.
-
This course is intentionally set up to be 100% online and self-paced so that anyone in the world can participate and work with the material in a way that best matches their learning style.
-
Our comprehensive program offers over 30-hours of supplementary tutorials, including visually-friendly animated videos explaining intricate physiology. It also comprises over twenty inspiring pre-recorded yoga sessions led by Robin Rothenberg, demonstrating how to integrate the conceptual material from "Restoring Prana" into impactful classes.
-
Mentor Lessons
Throughout the course, you'll be matched with a skilled mentor who will act as your personal coach, offering feedback, encouragement, and guidance to ensure your success in the program. Most of the RYP mentors are Certified Yoga Therapists (C-IAYTs) and have been personally trained by Robin. In addition, mentors have all completed the Buteyko Educators’ Training with one of the world’s leading authorities on the Buteyko Breathing Method, Patrick McKeown. Our mentors are flexible to accommodate time-zone differences. Tuition covers fifteen hours of one-on-one mentoring. These mentor lessons occur every 4-6 weeks and include assessment feedback on homework, practicum, and quizzes.
Sanghas
We host monthly RYP sangha gatherings, bringing together members from all cohorts and alumni. These interactive sessions provide opportunities for Robin to address questions, lead mini practices, and facilitate discussions among participants. Peer-to-peer networking and Breathing Buddy pairing enhance connectivity among students worldwide, guaranteeing a rich and fulfilling learning experience for all.
You’ll ‘learn on the job’ and acquire immediately usable skills as you progress through the program.
Course Materials:
· Robin’s book: Restoring Prana will serve as your manual for the course providing you with didactic material and at-home exercises.
· The Svadhayaya Breath Journal, the companion workbook to Restoring Prana, provides summaries, charts, worksheets and journaling questions designed to help you learn and digest the material.
· Ancillary Materials, available online, round out the written material through recorded practices, shorter videos on specific topics, and articles.
· Monthly Sangha gatherings are monthly live Zoom meetings where we gather to discuss progress, address questions, and practice. Recordings of these gatherings are available if you miss the live meeting, or if you want to explore any of the previous meetings.

With the Personal Study Track option students will not receive an RYP teaching certificate and will not be qualified to teach the RYP methodology in any educational forum. There is a slight fee reduction for the Personal Study Track.
