EYT’s Advanced Teacher Training

Based on the Viniyoga lineage with core alignment principles drawn from the Iyengar tradition, this program is designed to take instructors with their RYT200 and advance them into a vocational level of teaching, capable of working with specialty classes and individuals. Additionally this training will enable teachers to begin cultivating the eye, mind and vocabulary of a yoga therapist through learning how to customize practice.

Robin Rothenberg will teach Foundations with support from mentors who have previously graduated from the EYT Foundations program. Portions of the Anatomy and Physiology will be taught by Dr. Jill Massengill, D.C. and Anita Boser, Hellerworker. Between modules, monthly Sutra Study sessions will be held electronically and facilitated by one of the Senior mentors. Homework sequences and reading will be assigned with requisite due-dates and mentors will stay in close contact with the students throughout the program to monitor and support their progress. A reading list of required and recommended texts will accompany your letter of acceptance. Texts are not included in tuition.

Students will be expected to meet with their instructors via Skype or phone on a regular basis. Foundations provides the initial 300 hrs. of competencies that apply directly to the full IAYT Accredited Therapist Training. All graduates of Foundations will receive a Yoga Alliance RYT300 which in conjunction with their RYT200 and 100 hrs. of teaching experience will qualify them to apply for their RYT500.

The EYT Studio is a non-residential center. Local housing options will be necessary for students from outside the Seattle area.  EYT supports students in finding affordable housing and support for car-pooling to make Foundations as economical as possible.

Held at the EYT Studio in Fall City, Washington (25 miles east of Seattle)

Fee: $5,500

Upcoming Training Dates:

Module 1 March 15-24, 2019

Module 2 Sept. 13-22, 2019

Module 3 March 6-15, 2020

To note: Participation in Foundations does not guarantee placement in Part II of the EYT Therapist Training. This will be based on objective assessment of teaching skills, capacity to interweave and work on a multi-dimensional (kosha) level, and dedication to personal practice and transformation.
