Tailored for Teachers and Yoga Therapists: A Proactive Approach to Safety

Equipping Instructors with Evidence-Based Tools to Safeguard Students

In response to the increasing incidence of yoga-related injuries, it's crucial for instructors to be proactively informed about prevention and safety. Our course, grounded in two National Institutes of Health studies, will equip you with the knowledge to understand and address various types of lower back pain to keep your students — and you — safe and pain-free. In this intensive training, yoga teachers and therapists will develop the means to intelligently address the primary low back dysfunctions, hypo- and hypermobility, S.I. destabilization, pelvic misalignment, scoliosis, and lumbar-disc conditions. The intricate relationship between functional breathing and functional movement will be explored with scientific evidence to support the specific approach to sequencing and adaptation.

This training focuses on functional anatomy of the pelvic girdle, stabilizing exercises that develop core support, and an evaluative process that facilitates teachers and therapists in learning how to organize yoga practices which ensure students’ safety. The daily workshop format will include developmental and therapeutic practices, skill building through observation, co-teaching, and case studies to provide you with an abundance of knowledge and skills that are readily applicable.

Your tuition allows you to participate in two virtual days of follow-up training and a mentored practicum. Once you’ve received your full-certification, you’ll have access to many of Robin’s customized marketing materials, a listing on the EYT Directory, and the ability to teach the low back series as detailed out in the ELBP book. Many of the graduates from this course have found teaching this series immensely rewarding both personally and financially!

Course Requirements:

A practicum is an integral part of this course, involving the teaching of a 7-week series. Requirements include the completion of intake and evaluation forms for participants of the series, and a personal assessment/evaluation on the part of the instructor to indicate learning and growth. Competencies for C-IAYTs include: Yoga Foundations, Bio-medical Foundations, Yoga Therapy Tools and Therapeutic Skills, and Professional Practice.

Tuition includes an extensive manual, Yoga Alliance and International Association of Yoga Therapists Continuing Education Credits, and certification to instruct The Essential Low Back Program series upon successful completion of the practicum. Continuing Education credits will be granted for the 3 days in Puerto Rico; however, full certification requires attendance for all 5 days and completion of the practicum.

Bilingual Offerings: ELBP in Both Spanish and English

The program will be presented in both Spanish and English. Robin has crafted a Spanish translation of the ELBP Book, available in PDF format upon request. This new format includes video recordings of ELBP practices and additional tutorial videos, providing participants with an enriched learning experience. The complete package of videos and books will be accessible to training participants and their students enrolled in the ELBP courses post-graduation.

The ELBP training was by far the best continuing education training I have attended since I became a yoga teacher 8 years ago. Robin has a wealth of knowledge, in both human physiology and traditional yoga philosophy that she packs into this 5-day intensive. Yoga teachers from any background and level of experience will walk away feeling more confident to teach people with low back issues. Robin’s grace and wisdom are an inspiration.
